Florfenicol 30% Injectable Solution
Description
Colorless or light yellow clear liquid
Composition
Contains per vial:
100ml: Florfenicol 30g
Add Dimethyl acetamide / Polyethylene Glycol -400 to 100ml
Molecular formula: C12 H14 CL2NSO4F
Structural Formula:
Description: Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum, primarily bacteriostatic, antibiotic with a range of activity similar to that of chloramphenicol, including many gram-negative and gram-positive organisms; however, Florfenicol does not carry the risk of inducing human aplastic anemia that is associated with chloramphenicol. It also has activity against some chloramphenicol-resistant strains of bacteria.
Indications
FLOR30 Injectable Solution is indicated for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease associated with Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Haemophilus somnus. And infectious disease caused by sensitive bacteria in swine and poultry, e.g. epidemic pleuropneumonia in swine.
Instructions For Use
FLOR 30 Injectable Solution should be administered by intramuscular injection to
cattle at a dose rate of 20 mg/kg body weight,
swine and poultry at a dose rate of 20-30 mg/kg body weight,
dog and cat at a dose rate of 20-22 mg/kg body weight,
A second dose should be administered 48 hours later.
Alternatively, FLOR30 Injectable Solution can be administered by a single subcutaneous injection to cattle at a dose rate of 40 mg/kg body weight.
Do not administer more than 10 ml at each site. The injection should be given only in the neck.
Side effect
Inappetence, decreased water consumption, may occur transiently following treatment. But FLOR30 Injectable Solution administration had no long-term effect on body weight, rate of gain, or feed consumption.
